Photoshop Tutorial - City Landscape

We did a Photoshop tutorial where we used a city landscape. First of all we got a picture of a city landscape and put a circle in the middle, we then changed the color of the circle to make it stand out, then we added triangle shapes allover the picture and moved them to make the picture look choppy. We them changed the way the picture looks by changing some of the layer blending modes. We then added a number in the middle of the picture to finish.

Photoshop

We did a Photoshop tutorial to make this. First of all we dew a shape on Illustrator, and added lines to it. We then copied the shape to Photoshop, we copied it four times putting each one in a different direction. we added colors to each corner of the shape. We then added colors to the background  and then added some white to the top and bottom of the shape. Then we added white to the background, but changes the Layer Blending Mode to make it look more textured. 

We then had a go at making our own, this is what i made, i used a different shape and used different colors to the first one we did.

Painting

This is a painting by David Hockney. I like the colors and the way the sky looks. I think that the tree looks good.

Photoshop Tutorial

We were shown a Photoshop tutorial. We were shown how to do things such as selecting certain areas of pictures, using the lasso tools and other tools, we were also show how to change the way an image looks for example by changing the brightness and adding filters to the image. We were also shown how to change the background of an image and how the layers work. We were then aloud to experiment with the things we had learnt, this is what I created. 

Chase this light

This is an an album cover for the album "Chase this light." I like the pattern and the colours of the background,  because it looks really bright and fun. Also I think the colours go well together. 

New Order

This is an album cover that was designed by Peter Saville. I like the colours used on the flowers and I like the way the flowers look. I think that it looks nice and the font and the font colours go with the image too.

Let England Shake

 

This is also an album cover designed by Rob Crane. I like the way the bird form the background and i also like the colours because it looks plain and simple. I like the font used in the middle. Also, i like the fact that the birds look hand drawn.

The Cribs

 

 

This is an album cover i found online. I like the fact that it is black and white because it makes it look old fashioned. I also like the way the name of the band "the cribs" is written like a sign on the building in the background, because it makes it look like it really is in the background and not like an album cover. Also, i like the fact that the people are only silhouettes because it goes with the black and white colours.
